We wish we could honestly say “we're shocked” at the erroneous allegations made by both an MSNBC host, and a reporter for the New York Times because that would suggest that at least the network along with the publication had some professional integrity, however, they don’t, therefore we're not!

On Tuesday's episode of Meet the Press Daily, panelist Yamiche Alcindor (a New York Times reporter), and NBC host Chuck Todd incorrectly said Stephen Willeford did not exchange fire with the Texas church shooter or end his attack.

Todd who pulls double duty as NBC moderator and also hosts MTP Daily a weekday news show on MSNBC had obviously misspoken regarding the tragic circumstances surrounding the deadly massacre at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas,

However the disinformation didn’t stop with Todd, Yamiche Alicindor, a national reporter for the New York Times actually doubled down and repeated the same fallacious story stating; "When I was watching President Trump today, and he was making his argument that [the shooter] was essentially stopped by someone with a gun, I thought he killed himself.”

Adding; "There was not a big gun fight, and he was not stopped. There needs to be a fact check on how it was stopped."

"Right," Chuck Todd responded. "The narrative with Mike Huckabee and the president is a little bit off the rails."

This once again demonstrates why both MSNBC and the New York Times are failing as reliable and truthful media outlets and why President Trump references them as “fake news.”

The indisputable fact that Stephen Willeford engaged the shooter Devin Kelley has been chronicled by numerous eye-witness account, a brief video clip, by police investigators on the scene, and by a score of news outlets.

In fact the story of Farida Brown, as told by her son David Brown, and chronicled by the Washington Post recounts how the survivors credited Willeford with saving their lives, in that he engaged the assailant as he exited the church, preventing him from continuing his rampage, by wounding him in the exchange of gunfire, which forced him to drop his weapon.

As for the likes of Todd and Alicindor, perhaps another profession might be a good idea, perhaps something in the world of make-believe.

Do you believe that progressive news outlets are no longer trustworthy for a majority of the population?
