Was it simply a case of “Islamophobia” or erring on the side of caution?

That question has yet to be answered when a security guard apparently became suspicious and ordered a 19-year-old Muslim woman to remove her headscarf or leave the restaurant.

The woman (a student), who wishes to remain anonymous, said the security guard at the McDonald restaurant located in Holloway, North London ordered her to remove her hijab, a headscarf worn by Muslim woman, however she refused, which no doubt made the security guard even more suspicious, especially considering that North London has been the scene of multiple terrorist attacks by Islamic extremists.

Rather then simply complying with the order the woman decided to film the encounter, apparently in an effort to document the incident.

Her friend named Sabrina uploaded the video to Twitter, under the username @south-sab, apparently to embarrass the McDonald restaurant and the security guard for doing his job, which is to protect the store and its customers.

WATCH:

The brief video shows the Muslim woman asking the security guard; 'Why can't I come into McDonald's? Because I'm wearing a hijab? I'm sorry but can you please say it?”

Her friend Sabrina uploaded the video to Twitter under the username @south-sab showing the British Muslim ask: 'Why can't I come into McDonald's? Because I'm wearing a hijab? I'm sorry but can you please say it?'

The security guard replies: “It’s just a matter of taking it off.'

The Muslim woman then says: 'It’s not just a matter of taking it off. I wear this for religious reasons and I’m not ashamed of it, and I will stand in line and I will get the food I want because this isn’t OK.”

Obviously, the woman is using the issue of her headscarf for political expediency exclaiming to the security guard; “I am sorry but I just want to know who is implementing this policy because this is f****** ridiculous.”

Ridiculous or not, erring on the side of caution especially in a “war zone” like North London may, in fact, save lives.

Do you agree that wearing any type of head covering especially in a city that has experienced multiple terrorist attacks should be outlawed?
