Perhaps the most egregious thing one can do to a Marine, if you understand the history of the Corps is to disrespect America’s heritage and traditions, especially when it comes to religion and the separation of church and state, embodied within our Constitution, moreover the convoluted concept by academia in suggesting that Islam is simply a religion as compared to a more complex political philosophy that supports the most barbaric implementations of “Sharia Law.”

And perhaps that the wider issue for this former Marine and his wife who are fighting back after they believe a Maryland public school engaged in unconstitutional teachings of that barbaric ideology.

Moreover, they believe the La Plata High School was forcing their students to learn and do assignments about Islam.

Marine, John Kevin Wood just filed the lawsuit along with his wife Melissa with the Thomas More Law Center, alleging that their daughter’s high school forced the students to complete assignments that specifically endorsed Islam and the Muslim way of life.

As an example, Wood explained one of the assignments by the school that the Islamic creed of “Shahada,” which means “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”

However no mention that the Profit Muhammad was actually a “war lord” who murdered and beheaded approximately 600-900 individuals within a 24-hour period.

Beside the school forcing students to learn about Islam, the suit claims that the school district painted Christianity in a negative light.

The suit contends that the “defendants have treated Plaintiffs’ Christian beliefs and heritage as subordinate to Islamic beliefs and heritage, with deliberate indifference, and have been hostile toward C.W. and her family,” the suit reads.

Perhaps it’s noteworthy to point out that Islam and the United States Marine Corps share a unique history, the battle of Derne in 1805, the first time the Marines were deployed in an overseas conflict, and in which the popular lyric line "To the shores of Tripoli" was the first song referencing the First Barbary War, in which the Marines were sent to the Mediterranean sea to protect our merchant ships against Muslim pirates.

Which no doubt is another history lesson that in all probability will not be thought at the La Plata High School.

Do you think that America’s academic system is forever broken because of political correctness?
