Creating “fake news” is no longer the sole domain of progressive media outlets or self-serving activists such as CNN, MSNBC and CBS, now everyone can claim victimization even million dollar NFL athletes, as long as you have the right skin pigmentation.

Take for example Dietaries Williams, a 21-year old African-American who discovered his vehicle, covered in graffiti and racial slurs, when he returned to his auto, last Wednesday parked at an apartment complex near Kansas State University.

The hateful message scrawled in paint read “Go Home,” ”Date your own kind,” and “Die.”

No doubt written by a sick racist and perhaps menacing individual, however just like those newscasts on CNN and MSNBC, perception may not always be reality. And on Monday Williams admitted it was all a hoax, a Halloween prank that simply got out of hand.

The community was outraged and an FBI investigation was started to look into finding the culprit.

However, Williams silly little prank had real consequences after he filed a phony police report, which sparked an emergency meeting by the Black Student Union and concerned administrators and community leaders at the university.

Even the state of Kansas got into the act holding a live Facebook event concerning racial discrimination, campus patrols were stepped up, and even the FBI became involved opening a civil rights investigation into a possible hate crime.

However on Monday full 5-days after Williams first reported the incident he confessed to the hoax and informed the Riley County Police Department that he was responsible for painting his own vehicle with the racial graffiti.

Stating; “The whole situation got out of hand when it shouldn’t have even started, it was just a Halloween prank that got out of hand. I wish I could go back to that night but I can’t. I just want to apologize from the bottom of my heart for the pain and news I have brought you all.”

Remarkably the police did nothing and in fact seemed to actually support this nut case stating Williams was “genuinely remorseful and expressed sincere regret.”

One can only imagine if this were a white student doing something similar, if the police would have been this understanding in having someone filing a false police report, which is a serious crime, except if you happen to be the right skin pigmentation.

Do you think the police should have arrested Williams for knowingly filing a false police report?
