THIS Is What Happens When Marine Forces People Without Children To Actually WORK For Food Stamps
How many of you out there are Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD)? Certainly there are a few. If not, then you probably know one or two of these folks.
How many of them have a job and how many of them scam the system? Again you probably know 1, or have heard of one in your social circle, or God forbid are one.
Did you know the ABAWDs who don’t have jobs are hidden among the masses of leaches, sucking our society dry? These are the welfare folks who happily sit back collecting their checks, doing zip, while you push through the grind of responsible living day-in-day-out.
Between 2000 and 2014 our nation saw a rise in welfare benefits, namely food stamps, from $17.2-Million to a gargantuan $20.7-Billion. That’s not all folks. The 2015 overall welfare tab reached somewhere the vicinity of $1-TRILLION.
The state of Maine has had enough. Governor Pal LePage has decided that if you need welfare to subsidize you, you better have some form of a legitimate job.
If you can’t find a job for lack of skills, then you will participate in some of their development training. Or, you will perform community service. Basically, you WILL earn your keep. No more taking welfare with one hand, and under-the-table earnings with the other.
This is not a decision nor a new deployment of such work mandates for welfare in the state of Maine. This began to demonstrate effectiveness between the months of December 2014 and March of 2015. In less than four-months the state of Main saw an 80% drop in the number of ABWADs seeking food stamps.
The number went from a whopping 13,332 recipients to 2,678. That tells you that most of these people have had no excuse for being slugs. Amazing how they all managed to find some form of a job, training, or community service activity.
This is a reform to consider nationwide. This would have a resounding impact on our nation and our national budgets. This is distribution of wealth—it’s called carry your own weight.
