No doubt those who voted for President Trump never imagined for a moment the deep seeded animosity and bitterness displayed by the left, to our president and by extension to those individuals who exercised their constitutional right to vote for him.

Most had assumed that after the historic election, that those on the left after a period of time would begrudgingly accept the outcome, as conservatives did by their acceptance of Obama.

However what we’ve witnessed, especially by those within the media is tantamount to subversion of the democratic process and perhaps the last gasps of a once noble institution, that we’ve come to know as our 4th Estate.

Within the last 6-months, we’ve witnessed this once independent institution slowly becoming more embittered, more resentful and more disoriented in assessing their role as “truth-tellers.” Their unbridled hate for President Trump now consumes them, and their only purpose is to destroy him at all costs.

Likewise our embattled president has no illusions that the press will ever treat him fairly much less respect the “office of the presidency” those niceties no longer exist for President Trump, however, this president is a different breed, he’s not a politician and cares little what the media thinks, which was on full display over the weekend as he gave the commencement speech for the Coast Guard graduating class.

The speech as we’ve come to expect was “vintage Trump” extolling the virtues of hard work, and never giving up, and to follow your dreams.

Standing at the podium at the Coast Guard Academy the president began; “Now I want to take this opportunity to offer you some advice. Over the course of your life you will find that things are not always fair. You will find that things happen to you that you do not deserve… You have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight!… Never ever, ever give up. Things will turn out just fine…. No politician in history…has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can’t let them get you down. You can’t let the critics and naysayers get in the way of your dreams.”

Then as a final thought, the president added: “The people understand what I’m doing and that’s the most important thing. I didn’t get elected to serve the Washington media or the special interests,” he said. “I got elected to serve the forgotten men and women and that’s what I’m doing.”
