Gowdy has gained popularity and notoriety among conservatives for his work on the Select Committee on Benghazi, a position that led to the discovery that Hillary Clinton used a private email server during her tenure at the State Department. But things could be changing for Gowdy soon.

The news tip came from fellow Congressman John Fleming, a Republican from Louisiana. He said that Gowdy, "wants to go back to South Carolina, and God bless him for that." But how can he be so sure? Others say not so fast.

Gowdy's communications officer denies what Congressman Fleming stated, saying that Gowdy has yet to decide what he will do in 2016. Whatever his decision, Gowdy has made it clear that he wishes to continue his work on the Benghazi committee, something which is admirable considering the pushback and personal attacks he's suffered during his work on that committee.

Though unpopular in many liberal circles because of his pointed attacks against Hillary Clinton, Gowdy's work has been exceptional. He's managed to remain engaged in a political scandal which resulted in the deaths of American lives in the Benghazi incident and which has been covered up extensively by Clinton and her staffers.

According to Fleming, one of the reasons that Gowdy would consider retiring from the United States Congress and returning home is his love for his native South Carolina. "he loves South Carolina and he loves his family, and he wants to go back and spend the rest of his life there," said Fleming.

Whatever Gowdy decides, it should be clear to any outside observer that the man loves the United States and cares deeply about his home state. The fact that he would remain in a stressful work environment to continue his work on the Benghazi committee shows his dedication to our country. Thank you Trey Gowdy, and God bless!
