VIDEO: Officer Notices Something Startling About Homeless Man’s Feet, Drops To His Knees
In Phoenix, Arizona a homeless man sat huddled in front of a local gas station minding his own business. However, some felt annoyed with man's presence and called the police to come 'take care' of the situation. When police arrived on scene one officer noticed something familiar with the homeless man and walked closer to make sure. What the officer noticed about the homeless man brought him to his knees in front of the crowd of onlookers.
One onlooker, Raymond Celaya was in the area that afternoon and chose to document the entire situation on camera.
Officer Mark Valenzuela had been called about the homeless man and when he arrived on scene went to approach the huddled man. Valenzuala asked the man a question but then he noticed something about the man's feet that stopped him dead in his tracks.
Valenzuela noticed that the man's feet were completely bare in the cold weather outside and that the man had walked his feet raw. The homeless man could not take another step.
Valenzuela remembered that at that very instance he had an extra pair of shoes with him that could potentially fit the homeless man, who clearly needed them more than he did at the moment.
The officer grabbed the virtually untouched footwear from his car and did much more than just hand them over to the homeless man. What he did next was a true act of compassion.
The officer asked the man to take a seat on the back of his patrol car and gave him a warm pair of socks. Then Valenzuela took a knee and helped the man put the shoes on taking extra care to make sure that they fit the man just right.
As it would turn out the shoes were the exact size the man needed and they fit perfectly. The homeless man was very thankful and offered to pay the man a few bucks for the shoes but officer Valenzuela insisted that the shoes were not a gift from him but rather from God.
"He was just very thankful. I could see a little bit of money in his pocket, he had some dollar bills and some change," said Officer Valenzuela. "He wanted to pay me for the shoes and I just told him they were a gift from God."
In such a dark time for our nation's police force it is incredibly heartwarming to hear a story like this. It just goes to show those cop-hating liberals that our police are not the racist boogie men that the mainstream media is trying to make them out to be, but they are kind and selfless. They put their lives on the line trying to keep us safe and make our nation a better place.
Please share this on facebook and show your support for our nation's police force, especially in such a dark hour.
