The Muslim Brotherhood was established in 1928 with a simple goal that remains as its mission statement today: “To instill the Quran Quran as the sole reference point for ... ordering the life of the Muslim family, individual, community ... and state.”

Members live by its mottos: “Allah is our objective; the Qur'an is the Constitution; the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; death for the sake of Allah is our wish.”

One would think those facts alone would justify a healthy suspicion of the group, but during the eight years of the Obama administration, the Muslim Brotherhood was embraced as a preferred partner in the Middle East and welcomed its representatives into the White House.

Obama spokesman for the U.S. National Security Council, Tommy Vietor, claimed the support was justified because “the situation has changed,” and defended the meetings as, a series of meetings between U.S. officials, members of Congress, and representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood. Senators Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and others have met with members of the MB during their visits to Egypt, and U.S. officials, as part of their routine diplomatic outreach, continue to meet with representatives as well.”

Today, in the atmosphere of a newly minted Trump administration, a Lebanese Christian who fled Muslim extremists in her homeland to raise her family in the United States has founded an organization dedicated to educate Americans to the internal threat posed by the organization.

Brigitte Gabriel, the president and founder of ACT for America, takes pains to explain the Muslim Brotherhood’s single of sabotaging America from within and establish Islam as the dominant religion, in language unfiltered by political correctness.

The language is taken directly from the Muslim Brotherhood’s “Plan for America,” which Gabriel quotes from during her speeches.

Dated May 22, 1991 – less than four months before the attacks of 9/11 – the “plan” was presented as evidence in the Holy Land Foundation trial that saw 108 convictions against Muslim individuals and organizations for raising millions of dollars to support terrorism.

“The Muslim brother must understand the settlement process is a civilization jihad… a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western Civilization from within,” Gabriel reads from the document.

Speaking before a large audience in a recent video, Gabriel quoted from the final page of the plan, “which lists 29 Islamic organizations set up in the United States with the specific goal of sabotaging America from within, and destroying America by our own hands.”

The list includes the Muslim Student Association, which has more chapters on American college campuses that both the Republican and Democrat parties – combined.

Also listed are the familiar ISNA (Islamic Society of North America), the largest Muslim organization in North America, which served as policy advisors to President Obama during his eight years in the White House.

The influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, however, may be over as the Trump administration considers a move to declare it a terror organization and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has introduced a bill that would criminalize funding the group, prevent banks from handling financial transactions for the group, and regulating the travel of members into the United States.

“It is time to call this enemy by its name and speak with clarity and moral authority,” Cruz said in a statement about the proposed legislation.

Unsurprisingly, The New York Times editorial board disagrees, asking, “Is President Trump trying to make enemies of the entire Muslim world?”
