Americans who are concerned about more Islamic terror attacks striking within the United States after the massacre in San Bernardino, California are noting how the French government is responding to similar attacks in that European country.

Unlike President Obama, who remains unwilling or unable to acknowledge the existential threat of radical Islamism as he continues to claim that ISIS is “contained,” French leaders are taking action against sources of terror.

Even as the married jihadist couple moved to attack innocents enjoying a holiday party at a social services building in San Bernardino, California, Obama was saying, “American people should feel confident that, you know, we are able to defend ourselves and make sure that, you know, we have a good holiday and go about our lives.”

However, in France, authorities have shuttered three mosques since simultaneous attacks at restaurants, a soccer stadium and a concert venue in Paris on November 13 killed 130 and injured hundreds more.

Bernard Cazeneuve, Minister of the Interior, has indicated that mosques found to be harboring or fostering jihad will be closed for the duration of the emergency declared by the government following the terror attacks.

In addition, Cazeneuve said 2,235 homes and buildings have been searched in connection with investigations into terror activities. Over 200 people have been taken into custody and, 334 weapons – many of them military grade – have been confiscated.

Police raided a mosque east of Paris on Wednesday and, after finding what they termed “jihadist documents,” ordered the mosque closed.

And unlike organizations like the Coalition for Islamic-American Relations (CAIR) in the United States that claim America is at least partly to blame for such attacks of violence, Muslim groups and leaders are cooperating with authorities in closing mosques that are deemed to be a threat to public safety.

Hassan El Alaoui, an official in charge of naming regional imams in France, told reporters, “According to official figures and our discussions with the interior ministry, between 100 and 160 more mosques will be closed because they are run illegally without proper licenses, they preach hatred or use takfiri speech.”

The Arabic word “takfiri” means Muslims who accuse other Muslims of apostasy or of being impure in their faith.

“This kind of speech shouldn’t even be allowed in Islamic countries, let alone secure countries like France,” said El Alaoui.
