VIDEO: Brawl Breaks Out In Grocery Store Deli Over Ordering A Chicken
A little trip to the local grocery store has turned into a complete and utter mess.
A brawl broke out when a man ordered some chicken from the deli at a Publix in Temple Terrace Florida.
Temple Terrace police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man and woman involved in a brawl that broke out last week at a Publix deli.
The melee started about 8:45 p.m. Sept. 18 at the store, at 5450 E. Busch Blvd., after 59-year-old Raleigh Harris, of Tampa, was ordering chicken and became angry at a deli employee, police Capt. Greg Pauley said. As a verbal exchange began, another Publix worker came to his colleague’s defense.
Then a shopper, 25-year-old Leon Lightbody, confronted Harris, and they began to fight, Pauley said.
Pauley said Lightbody struck Harris multiple times and the pair went to the floor and grappled. An unknown man and woman joined the fight as Publix employees attempted to break it up, Pauley said.
Investigators aren’t sure how the incident escalated from verbal to physical.
