One might ask if throwing rocks at police officers, destroying property, burning down buildings and looting stores aren’t acts committed by “thugs”, then perhaps City Councilman Carl Stokes has a more accurate description of those young hoodlums.

Obviously referencing these young punks as “thugs” sent the good councilman into a rage during an interview on CNN when host Erin Burnett referenced the recent controversy when Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake described the rioters as “thugs”, as did President Obama.

Moreover when Burnett quoted Obama’s description of the rioters as “criminals and thugs” Councilman Stoke went ballistic live on the air while dropping one racial epithet after another: Come on? So calling them thugs, just call them n***ers, just call them n***ers, no. We don’t have to call them by names such as that. We don’t have to do that. That is exactly what we have set them to. Now, when you say come on, come on what? You wouldn’t call your child a thug if they should do something that would not be what you would expect them to do.

Burnett reacted to Stokes’ outburst by telling him, “I would hope I would call my son a thug if he ever did such a thing,” and that she respected the Councilman’s point of view.
