It would seem that it's not just conservatives and Israeli's who are a little ticked off at Obama's recent betrayal of our ally with his decision to abstain from the United Nations Security Council vote late last week that came after Israel hard. It seems that this backstabbing play is a pretty universally unwelcome move and now even the U.K. has come out and condemned the anti-Israeli attitudes displayed by the United States.

On Thursday, the British government gave a statement that is being characterized as an "unprecedented" public disapproval of a close ally, condemning U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for his deeply anti-Israel speech that he delivered about Israeli-Palestinian peace on Wednesday.

"We do not believe that the way to negotiate peace is by focusing on only one issue, in this cases the construction of settlements, when clearly the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians is so deeply complex," said a spokesperson for British Prime Minister Theresa May in a statement to Jewish News.

"And we do not believe that it is appropriate to attack the composition of the democratically-elected government of an ally. The Government believes that negotiations will only succeed when they are conducted between the two parties, supported by the international community."

Kerry's speech also received a lot of heat from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who said that Kerry's permanent solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue, outlined in his speech create a "false moral equivalence" between Palestinian terror strikes and Israeli construction in eastern Jerusalem.

The United Kingdom did in fact vote for the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 last Friday, which condemned Israeli construction in the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem.

However, the spokesperson made sure to clarify that London "continue[s] to believe that the construction of settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is illegal, which is why we supported UN Security Council Resolution 2334 last week. But we are also clear that the settlements are far from the only problem in this conflict. In particular, the people of Israel deserve to live free from the threat of terrorism, with which they have had to cope for too long."

Former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren warned in Newsweek on Wednesday that the resolution endangered Israel by denying the Jewish connection to Jerusalem, harmed the Palestinians by perpetuating their statelessness, and damaged American credibility throughout the Middle East by reversing its longstanding guarantee to protect Israel from one-sided UN resolutions. This sort of anti-Israel rhetoric being seen from the United States is dangerous and being criticized around the world. It's going to be a whole lot of cleaning up and fixing for Trump to have to do after the Obama war machine has ravaged whats left of America's image and international relations.

Please share if you think this was one of Obama's most conniving moves ever.
