President Trump has just signed another big piece of legislation to help reshape America and get us back on track. This time he's looking at the energy sector and the coal industry specifically. Obama was extremely harsh to coal mining industry, making it very difficult for companies to continue to operate and cutting out tons of jobs in the coal mining industry with his many rules and regulations. Well, Trump has come after one of Obama's key rules, repealing it and giving the power back to the coal miners.

"We’re bringing it back, and we’re bringing it back fast," said Trump right before signing the bill. Trump even went a step further and handed off the pen that was used to sign the legislation to the grateful coal miners in attendance of the ceremony.

Under the Congressional Regulations Act (CRA), both the House and the Senate passed resolutions to do away with the "Stream Protection Rule" which puts heavy regulations on coal discharge into streams.

Trump expressed in statement earlier that he planned to sign the CRA into law, which would eliminate the $1.2 billion stream rule that "duplicates existing protections in the Clean Water Act and is unnecessary given the other Federal and State regulations already in place."

Trump promised that he is "committed to reviving America’s coal mining communities, which have been hurting for too long."

republicans argue that the redundant "Stream Protection Rule" would only replicate preexisting rules and more importantly limit the amount of coal mining that could be done and push more and more coal miners out of work.

"Because of the war on coal waged by the Obama administration, over 240 coal fired plants have closed and 83,000 people have lost their jobs," explained West Virginia Rep. David McKinley. "Fortunately, we finally have a partner in the White House who understands just how damaging these rules can be."

The Obama administration planned for seven years creating this rule to replace the Bush administration’s Stream Buffer Zone rule.

By repealing this rule Trump would be coming through on two major campaign promises, protecting coal mining communities and bringing more jobs back to America. This is what making America great again really looks like.

Please share this on Facebook if you think Trump should repeal even more of the Obama administration's restrictive regulations.
