While speaking aboard the USS Iowa, on the evening of September 14th, at the invitation of the Veterans for a Strong America, from whom he also gained an endorsement, Donald Trump stated the painfully obvious;

“Right now, and you know it, we have illegal immigrants that are treated better by far than our veterans.”

He went on later to say,

“I am with veterans 100 percent. They’re our greatest people. They’re being treated terribly.

Nor only the number of deaths, which are obviously, that’s tantamount-what’s going on is incredible-but as of two weeks ago on Wednesday, the vets had the longest wait in the history of the Veterans Administration.”

Damn straight.

Recently reported in the media, hundreds of our veterans languished in the Veterans Administration system for years, only to die.

These are men and women who risked death on the battle fields of foreign lands only to return home and die at the hands of our own inept government. There is no other word for this than unacceptable.

Donald Trump is not having it.

“It’s not gonna happen anymore. It’s not gonna happen.”

He plans to create a new system, and even alluded to his plan to get the private sector involved and the government out. Makes total sense, because think about it, there is nothing the government touches that ever works well.

Our government can’t even run a business, the simple task of which, is carting a stamped letter from one post office to another without going broke. The fact that we have entrusted our veterans’ lives to the government is unbelievable.

“We’re gonna take this system apart, and if they’re not doing the job, the veterans are going to go to private doctors, private hospitals, public hospitals, and we’re gonna reimburse those doctors and those hospitals, and you’re gonna get the greatest service of any veterans in any country, because you deserve it,” said Donald Trump.

It is far beyond time that our nation take its obligations to our veterans seriously, and perhaps Trump is the man that can do it. He has billions of dollars behind his name earned by fixing bad deals, and righting bad companies to prove he can.
