During Trump's campaign he made a vow to the American people that he would "drain the swamp" and he has immediately set out to do that after his surprising beatdown of Hillary Clinton.

Trump's “Contract for the American voter” is chock full of “measures to clean up the corruption and special interest collusion in Washington, D.C.” and he is not wasting any time getting to work to the dismay of the establishment and fat cats in D.C.

The Washington Post reported “Hiring freezes, an end to automatic raises, a green light to fire poor performers, a ban on union business on the government’s dime and less generous pensions” are just a few of the measures Trump wants to implement as quickly as possible all to save taxpayers from a glut of government waste.

Of course the Post sees this as a nightmare scenario were saving blown cash will “erod(e) job protections and grind() down benefits.”

More from the Conservative Tribune:

Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz added that under President Barack Obama, federal bureaucracy had grown by such leaps and bounds that it had become “nearly impossible to fire somebody.” This had to stop for government to shrink and become more efficient.

Moreover, by shrinking government, Trump would only be giving the American people what they wanted. A Gallup poll published last month revealed that a 54 percent majority of Americans favored smaller government.

Trimming the fat off the government’s beefy belly would no doubt hurt some people, but the fact remained that the federal government should never have been permitted to grow so massive in the first place.
