Our troops sacrifice so much so that we can enjoy the joys of everyday life in America; the least we can do for them is show them respect when they come home and let them enjoy the same pleasures that they allow us to have right?

Well, one Texas based restaurant and entertainment chain doesn't seem to agree. Instead of offering our vets a free drink or a discount on their meal the staff at Dave & Buster's arcade and restaurant, they threatened to kick them out if they didn't comply.

The staff at Dave & Buster's in Kentwood, Michigan told veterans, Victor Murdock and Adrienne Brown of the American Legion Riders Post 179 of Grandville, MI that they needed to either take off their vests or they would be kicked out.

The vests were adorned with patches that showed a Prisoner of War Flag, an American Flag, and a bald eagle, all very patriotic things that one might expect to see on a veteran's vest.

The unamerican staff didn't see it that way. They decided that these symbols were "gang-related" and needed to be removed.

The restaurant's headquarters issued a statement explaining the incident:

"The group was asked to remove the jackets or turn them inside out because the business’ dress code prohibits evidence of gang affiliation. Spokeswoman April Spearman said the policy was in place ‘to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy themselves in a fun and safe environment.’"

The American Legion is the farthest thing from a gang. In fact, the American Legion is one of the oldest veteran associations around, founded in 1919 just after WWI. Since then, they have been focussed solely on respect and mutual helpfulness.

Now the internet is exploding with outrage at the blatant disrespect that this restaurant showed our nation's veterans. It's time this chain get's what it deserves.

Please make sure to share this on Facebook if you think we need to boycott this troop hating restaurant!
