Terror Up North: Muslim Assocation Funnels 300k to Hamas Linked ‘Charity’.
The link between certain Muslim organizations and terrorism has been known for a while. The latest story of a seemingly innocuous group with a terrorist link comes from Canada, where the Toronto suburb based Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) has reportedly donated $300,000 to Hamas-linked charities.
MAC claims to be its own entity and not linked to other organizations. They have put up a facade of caring and inclusion. Their website rotates through pleasant banners of charitable events, educational youth programs, and family programs. In the "about us" section the organization even says that they want to reach out and provide services "not only with the Muslim community, but with every community, regardless of faith or background." The website also praises the revival of Islam, and references the Muslim Brotherhood, a known terrorist organization.
The warrant revealed that " the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) provided $296,514 between 2001 and 2010." During that time IRFAN was also giving money to Hamas, "between 2005 and 2009, IRFAN transferred approximately $14.6-million worth of resources to various organizations associated with Hamas."
There was also a possible terrorist financing transaction at a MAC facility in Montreal. The warrant read, "(REDACTED) was observed on March 6, 2014, exiting the MAC location in Montreal carrying an 8 1/2 by 14-inch yellow envelope in his hand," the warrant reads. "It is possible that (REDACTED) is still accepting donations on behalf of IRFAN from the MAC in Montreal."
It's easy for MAC to say they do not condone violence and that they are want to live in unity, but their money trail suggests otherwise.
