Ted Nugent Visits a Muslim Book Store, Hilarity Ensues
Famed rock star, Ted Nugent, is well-known for his conservative political views and the courage to state them publicly, so it’s not a surprise that he managed to critique President Obama’s immigration policy, offend Muslims and illegal immigrants from Mexico and praise Donald Trump all at once in a recent post on his Facebook page.
“So I was walking through Chicago and I saw there was a "Muslim Book Store." I was wondering what exactly was in a Muslim bookstore, so I went in. As I was wandering around taking a look, the clerk stopped me and asked if he could help me.
I imagine I didn’t look like his normal clientele, so I asked, “Do you have a copy of Donald Trump’s book on his U.S. immigration policy regarding Muslims and illegal Mexicans?”
The clerk said, “GET OUT! GET OUT AND STAY OUT!”
I said, “Yes, that’s the one. Do you have it in paperback?”
The 66-year-old guitarist, musician and songwriter has built a second career as a Second Amendment and hunting advocate, author and reality show star. He has sold more than 30 million records and performed 6,000 concerts during a career spanning five decades. He is the author of God, Guns and Rock 'n' Roll (2000), a New York Times bestseller.
He is an unapologetic critic of Islam, calling it a “voodoo religion that believes in world domination.”
Born and raised in a strict household by an Army staff sergeant, Nugent attended Catholic schools and identifies himself as a Christian who attends church regularly. He is strongly opposed to drugs and alcohol use and advocates advocating achieving what he calls the “natural highs” found in an active outdoor lifestyle.
He has starred in reality shows featuring bow and arrow hunting, as well as opportunities for contestants to learn survival skills while surviving in the rough solely on what they were able to kill, skin and cook.
