When 30 protesters barged past security at the Manhattan headquarters of the New York Police Department’s largest union chanting, “Stop murdering us!” it would be easy to believe they were nothing more than an unaffiliated group of passionate young people wanting to draw attention to their grievance.

In fact, they were members of a group calling itself the Black Youth Project 100, which the organization’s website describes as a “collection of 18- to 35-year-olds dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people,” but the group has powerful support and unlimited financial backing from a familiar and dangerous source.

None other than George Soros, the well-known deep pocket supporter of radically liberal political causes has funded Black Youth 100 through an “award” of $1.2 through his Open Society Foundation.

A photograph of the demonstration at the Police Benevolent Association showed seven white protesters holding banners reading: “STOP THE COPS. FUND BLACK FUTURES” and “PBA PROTECTS KILLER COPS.”

One protester, 28-year-old Jewel Cadet told reporters on the scene, “The PBA protects cops that kill black people. We are here today to say that is not OK. We are also here today to talk about defunding the police. So much money goes to funding the police – that needs to stop. That money needs to go towards black futures.”

Billionaire Soros became a donor powerhouse in the early years of the century when he declared that “removing President George W. Bush from office was the central focus of my life,” adding that he would give up his entire fortune – estimated to be more than $25 billion – if someone could “guarantee” Bush’s defeat.

Previous Soros donations include $3 million to the Center for American Progress, $2.5 million to MoveOn.org and $20 million to America Coming Together, as well as $1 to President Obama’s 2012 reelection PAC.

He serves as co-chairman of the Ready for Hillary super-PAC and donated a total of $7 million to further her campaign for the presidency.

And he also supports groups that call for the dismantling of police forces around the country.
