Like many who witnessed the vicious assaults last week on Trump supporters in San Jose, California, my first reaction was “where are the police?”

Even giving the police the benefit of doubt that a spontaneous act of violence like someone getting suddenly sucker-punched, can’t always be prevented because of the very nature of the assault.

However a multitude of sustained attacks within a defined area and within a specific time frame, of a well publicized and controversial public venue, is simply unimaginable, and quite frankly a willful dereliction of duty, and perhaps even bordering on criminality and “civil rights violations” in allowing Trump supporters to be assaulted.

Of course Police Chief Eddie Garcia has adamantly denied the charges that his police stood silently by as Trump supporters were continually assaulted by a marauding band of thugs

On radio talk shows and across social media, some called for Mayor Sam Liccardo’s resignation because of his comments suggesting that Trump was to blame for igniting violence, while police were criticized for failing to protect Trump supporters from angry protesters throwing punches, water bottles and traffic cones.

While it appeared too many onlookers that police allowed the violence to proceed unchecked, San Jose police Chief Eddie Garcia insisted that it was more important for police to hold their “skirmish line” formations than to stop individual attacks. Four arrests were made.

However what has gone largely unreported, is that police chief Eddie Garcia is affiliated with the far left group “La Raza”, which has been described as either a Mexican Civil Rights organization or a radical and violent group, more aligned in purpose to that of the KKK…take your pick!

This is the Roundtable's mission and description of itself:

La Raza Roundtable brings together community organizations, community leaders, elected officials, private and public sector representatives in leadership capacities that can impact positive change for La Raza.

Garcia says police didn't arrest the protestors in fear of making them more angry!

"Mayor Liccardo, San Jose Police Issue New Statements Regarding Violence at Donald Trump Rally

San Jose police issued their own media advisory Friday, noting what actions it took as the media gives closer scrutiny to how well the department conducted crowd control.

In its release, SJPD said it held off in arresting people seen committing crimes because it “had the difficult task of weighing the need to immediately apprehend the suspect(s) against the possibility that police action involving the use of physical force under the circumstances would further insight [incite] the crowd and produce more violent behavior.”

Conservative journalist A.J. Delgado summed it up perfectly on Twitter:
