For those readers not familiar with the Marine Corps Ball, it’s actually in celebration of its founding, on that day in 1775, and traditionally celebrated on the 10th of November.

It’s a gala event where Marines dressed in their fine “dress blues” come together in celebration and tell tall tales of their combat exploits, all under the watchful eyes of their commanders, and perhaps one of the few times that officers and enlisted men come together in casual celebration.

And so when Marine Jarrod Haschert asked MMA superstar Ronda Rousey to accompany him to this gala event, little did he anticipate that she would accept, perhaps being a Marine Jarrod felt nothing is impossible, and of course he was right.

Ronda Rousey followed up on a September promise Friday night, arriving at the Marine Corps Ball in South Carolina with one of her biggest fans.

Haschert posted a video to Facebook on Aug. 22, begging his “celebrity crush” to join him at the ball.

"You are my celebrity crush, like, I love everything you do and I think that you are a phenomenal person, which is why it would be my honor to take you to the Marine Corps Ball on Dec. 11,” he said. “I really hope this doesn’t get in the way of your training … but I hope you take this into consideration, because if you do, you will truly be making my dream come true.”

In short, how could any gal resist a Marine in “dress blues?”

Here is a clip of Marine Jarrod Haschert when he asked her to the ball:
