REPORT: Gun Jobs Up A WHOPPING 75% Under Obama
For all the work that liberals like President Barack Obama and members of his administration have done to curtail Americans' Second Amendment rights, it appears that none of it is having much of an effect after all. President Obama has, in fact, had exactly the opposite result and it's a good sign to Second Amendment right activists everywhere.
You see, under the watch of President Obama, gun jobs in America have risen by 75 percent, something unheard of in other sectors and areas of the economy. As of the end of 2015, there are now 287,986 jobs in America that are provided for by gun manufacturers.
That's a lot.
In 2015 alone, there were almost 25,000 new jobs in this sector.
Economists at the National Shooting Sports Foundation have estimated that the gun industry in America has a $50 billion impact on the economy. Gun manufacturers pay taxes in excess of $3.5 billion and the average salary and benefits amount for a gun worker is over $50,000.
Representatives from the gun manufacturers say that a quarter of gun purchases in the last several years have been made by first-time gun buyers, and that over 30 percent of those gun buyers are now women.
"While self-defense may be an initial motivator in that firearm purchase, new gun owners are also seeking additional training and spending more time on the range than in previous decades," said Mike Bazinet, a spokesperson for the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
Other pundits pointed out that for all of President Obama's policy pushes and speeches against the Second Amendment, it appears that the only thing those ill-advised words have done is frighten the public that they will soon no longer have the right to bear arms to protect themselves.
Thank you, Obama. Thanks for saying the wrong things that resulted in the right reaction from the American people. We know our rights and we're not afraid of standing up for those rights.
