Lost in the mainstream media to deflect attention from 14,900 emails that Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton accidentally forgot to include in the official emails she was ordered to turn over, was another terror attack targeting American interests abroad.

Gunmen attacked the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul just as the evening session at the school was beginning, breaking through tight security and killing a university guard.

Authorities confirmed that at least 13 were killed, and another 30 wounded.

The New York Times reported that a gunman had taken up a position to fire on the university from within a nearby school for the blind after detonating a car bomb.

The liberal arts university was established in 2006 and is modeled on American institutions of higher learning. More than 1,000 students are currently enrolled at one of the few places where male and female students can mingle, not only in classes, but socially, in Afghanistan.

Reuters reported that the two gunmen were killed.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the attack on the

Pulitzer prize winning photographer, Massoud Hossaini, who is studying at the university, tweeted his eyewitness account of students barricading themselves inside classrooms as they heard one of the attackers going to the classrooms one by one.”

Hossaini said the students eventually decided to jump out the second-story window after one of the attacker, “kicked our door by his feet two times.”

Many sustained serious injuries, including broken bones and cuts.

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul condemned the attack and reported that it was offering “non-combat” assistance to the Afghan forces responding to the attack.

The American University was also the target of militants two weeks ago when two professors, an American and an Australian, were kidnapped at gunpoint by men in military uniforms. They have not been found.

Of course, the mainstream media may be so focused on Donald Trump’s “tone” that it may just forget to cover the attacks on American University.
