‘Politically Incorrect’ Texas Restaurant Chain: ‘If You Don’t Like It You Can Leave’
Perhaps America’s days of walking on eggshells, carefully choosing our words, and being “politically correct” are behind us.
One could only hope. In Houston, Texas one restaurant is heading up the charge to break the ice when it comes to no longer towing the PC line.
In fact, out of respect for those among us who hearts break over innocent words, patrons are warned that they will not find a feelings-friendly safe-space within.
“Notice. This store is politically incorrect. We say Merry Christmas. God bless America. We salute our flag and give thanks to our troops, police officers, and firefighters. If this offends you, you are welcome to leave. In God we trust.”
Berryhill CEO, Jeff Anon did this as a silent rebuke of the Starbuck angry-red, Bah-humbug seasonal to-go coffee cups.
“I don’t think anybody means anything bad or mean when they say ‘Merry Christmas”, and I thought somebody had to stand up and say enough of this,” he explained to KTRH NewsRadio.
Darn straight! This fear of saying Merry Christmas, God Bless, May the Lord be with you, Blessings, and anything else that has to do with Christianity has got to stop.
Mr. Anon went on to say that his actions have been well-received with only one lone scrooge out of 10-20 normal people having issue with it.
Berryhill is not alone in this effort to bring back the welcoming fellowship of Christmas in the business place. Schuler’s Bakery in Springfield (OH), said that their business more than doubled after posting a similar sign! “We didn’t do it for the publicity.
It was just to prove a point. We still live in America and we’re standing up for what we believe,” said Katelynn Jackson (clerk).
America—we should take note and start doing this ourselves. When told by a clerk in any place of business, “Happy Holidays,” we need to start responding with “…and a Merry Christmas to you too!” Better yet, beat them to the punch, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the reply you get.
