Perhaps the subtext to this story should read “the battle of the legends.” On one side is 1950’s pop icon and legendary crooner “conservative activist Pat Boone, and on the other side is legendary Academy Award winning actress and progressive feminist Maryl Streep, fighting for the hearts and minds of that extremely narrow audience of the uncommitted voter

In a recent interview, the ever dapper and even-tempered Boone decided that it was time to go after the outspoken and acclaimed progressive actress for her constant berating of the new president.

Boone seemingly exasperated with Hollywood’s collective meltdown of Trump’s historic win saying that the president deserves a “chance” and that Streep is “in the side of the career that applauds (trashing Trump) … it’s good for her.”

Which of course in liberal Hollywood it’s always beneficial in prolonging legendary careers, such as Streep’s and of course resurrecting those careers on ‘LIFE-SUPPORT” and perhaps extending those “B-list” celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell by parlaying their act around Donald Trump.

Boone made his remarks at the 25th Annual Movieguide Awards Show, saying; “politically Hollywood is almost 99% liberal. Not to say leftist, that is towards socialism and not wanting any abridgment of anything they want to do if they can make a buck doing it.”

He continued: “I’m conservative politically and I have felt that moral guidelines are for our good: the good of our nation, the good of our family, and Hollywood seems to have no moral guidelines.”

Which apparently prompted the interviewer to ask about Streep’s continued attacks on the new president at award shows.

“Now, first of all, I don’t think that award shows are the place to express some narrow political view,” Boone said. “Now, it’s not narrow to her, or to most of that audience, but to most of America, who had elected a man that she detests and doesn’t wanna even give a chance to.”

However don’t look for this battle to end anytime soon in “la, la land” Moreover many careers are either made or lost in regards to your politics, and many legendary actors and actresses extend their careers by publicly playing the “Trump card.”
