The fear of Sharia law coming to the United States wasn't unfounded, the ramifications of having Sharia courts set up has been illustrated in other countries, such as England. Unfortunately, Sharia law has officially come to America as Texas has set up its first ever "voluntary" Islamic tribunal in Dallas.

The new tribunal is stressed to be a "voluntary" way for Muslims to settle civil disputes without having to go through the American legal system, which the tribunal's website says, ". . . are costly and consist of ineffective lawyers. Discontent with the legal system leads many Muslims in America to postpone justice in this world and opt for an audience on the Day of Judgment." The problem is the threat of having a parallel legal system, similar to what happened in England. An article in the Independent said the Sharia courts in England, that were supposed to respect UK laws, "they operate within a misogynist and patriarchal framework which is incompatible with UK legislation."

Breitbart interviewed one of the Dallas tribunal's "judges," El-badawi and asked what would happen if Texas law and Sharia law contradicted each other, he said that the two sets of laws usually agree, however, "When pushed further he admitted that, 'we follow Sharia law.'" Already, one of the judges is admitting the tribunal doesn't show respect for the law of the land, since they will allow their own laws to trump the state laws.

Another concern of Sharia law is their extreme take on justice, including stoning, honor killings, or lashings. The tribunal's website says, "Stoning adulterers, cutting of the hands, polyandry and the like (all can be traced in the relevant literature and can be explained in their Islamic legal mentality and rational context in fairness and justice), are mainly a part of Islamic Criminal Law. In fact criminal law within Islam only makes up a fraction of the Shari’ah. . ." They don't condemn these actions or say that they wouldn't be recommended!

How long until more Sharia courts show up and America gets their own no go zones?
