Like a scene from an old western flick, Roseburg, Oregon has issued a statement to President Obama. It’s along the lines of don’t-come-‘round-here. Obama’s politicization of the Umpqua Community College shooting as means to issue a campaign speech attacking the 2nd Amendment, rather than comfort their community, did not sit well.

President Obama is rumored to be getting around to traveling to Roseburg, but the town does not want him there.

According to the publisher of the Roseburg Beacon, David Jacques, “...I think the president, first of all, is not welcome in the community,” and while that is his opinion, he added that “dozens upon dozens of citizens”, are pissed off at Obama for trivializing their devastation, and admittedly politicizing their tragedy, and took the opportunity to preach about gun-control before the town was even done “counting the bodies on the campus,” and identifying the dead and injured. Jacques goes on to say;

“So now he wants to come to our community and stand on the corpses of our loved ones to make some kind of a political point and it isn’t going to be well-received, not by our people, not by the families, and not even by our elected officials.”

While we could into the politics of the situation, we won’t.

We will extend our condolences to Roseburg, and stand united with them in turning their backs on a president who deserved such shaming years ago.

Dancing on the dead is not the act of a good man, let alone a president.
