The quickest way for any fast food restaurant to lose the good will of the American people on a massive scale is to disrespect our nation’s warriors, and that’s exactly what Dave and Buster’s arcade and restaurant in Kentwood, Michigan has just done.

The apparent asinine policy of the restaurant is demanding the two veterans Victor Murdock and Adrienne Brown of the American Legion Riders Post 179 of Grandville, MI, remove their vests or vacate the restaurant is perhaps the dumbest thing a business can do especially within an age of social media.

Apparently, the patches on their vests depicted the American Flag, a bald eagle and the Prisoner of War Flag, disturbed the clueless and ignorant manager who claimed the patches on their vests somehow promoted gang-related symbols.

According to, this is political correctness run amok. Texas-based Dave and Buster’s headquarters issued a statement explaining:

“The group was asked to remove the jackets or turn them inside out because the business’ dress code prohibits evidence of gang affiliation. Spokeswoman April Spearman said the policy was in place ‘to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy themselves in a fun and safe environment.’”

Since its charter and incorporation by Congress in 1919 following World War I, the American Legion is one of the oldest and most respected veterans’ organizations in the country.

No doubt referencing America’s war heroes as a “gang” by the restaurant manager simply illustrates who “political correctness” undermines our nations values and principles.

Moreover, Dave and Buster’s will perhaps reap what they have sown. The push back which has already begun with veteran groups is already making their presence felt on the internet, discussing the mistreatment the two vets endured, and the boycotts being now being organized.

Bottom line; conservatives for decades refused to use boycotts as a political weapon favored by the rabid left, until now…it’s time to fight fire with fire, in that boycotts are no longer reserved for those delusional leftists.

Do you think boycotts are an effective political tool?
