Ohio Country Club Employee Arrested in Plot to Kill House Speaker John Boehner.
A dark and strange tale is unfolding in southern Ohio. Deer Park resident Michael Robert Hoyt, 44, was indicted last week on charges of plotting to kill Speaker of the House, John Boehner. The bizarre plot ranged from adding some type of poison to speaker Boehner's wine as well as shooting the speaker with his .308 Beretta. Special Agent Christopher M. Desrosiers of the United States Capitol Police said. “Hoyt advised he had a loaded Beretta .380 automatic and he was going to shoot Boehner and take off.”
“Hoyt told the officer he was Jesus Christ and he was going to kill Boehner because Boehner was mean to him at the country club and because Boehner is responsible for Ebola,” added Agent Desrosiers, and wanted to confront the speaker in a large public venue, like a football stadium.
In another strange twist, Hoyt sent off this email to the wife of speaker, Deb Boehner.
The Deer Park man was showing signs of distress in the days prior, claiming to hear the devil say he was going to “come chop him up,” through his car radio speakers. Hoyt also typed out an 11 page online blog, detailing his feelings on the speaker, he later emailed copies to his father, ex-girlfriend and next door neighbor.
Additional firearms, ammo and evidence pointing to a plot was found at Hoyt's residence. When reached for comment on the ongoing investigation, Kara Hauck, press secretary for the speaker said he is aware of the current situation and "sincerely thanks the FBI, the Capitol Police and local authorities in Ohio for their efforts.”
