Bowe Bergdahl, the man most would dub the modern-day Benedict Arnold, has been working at a military base since the trade was made that brought him back to America. The Inquisitr reported, according to the Government Accountability Office, the swap was actually illegal.

“In late August, the report from the GAO suggested that the Obama Administration violated the law in two ways. It violated the Department Of Defense Appropriations Act and the Antideficiency Act. One dealing in notification to Congress, and the other in spending money that was not appropriated to do so.”

This outraged many, who saw the trade of Islamic terrorists for a potential traitor, as bad deal. Now, according to the Washington Times, the charges have finally been released. Lt. Col. Tony Schaffer explained to Bill O' Reilly on the O'Reilly Factor, that the army will charge Bergdahl with “desertion”.

Schaffer also said two separate military sources have confirmed that 'Benedict' Bergdahl's lawyer has been given a “charge sheet”. It lists the “articles of uniform military code” that he has violated.

Mr. Schaffer says that President Obama has been trying to keep Bowe Bergdahl's charge's hidden.

“This is shaping up to be a titanic struggle behind the scenes,” he said. “Believe me, the Army here wants to do the right thing … And the White House, because of the political narrative, President Obama cozying up to the parents and because he, President Obama, releasing the five Taliban … The narrative is what the White House does not want to have come out.”

This makes a lot of sense. Five months after the Bergdahl hostage trade, the military had finally concluded its investigation. However, they were not releasing their findings. According to The Hill, Army spokesman Wayne Hall explained their alleged reasoning for withholding the information.

He claimed the “review process likely would be lengthy” and that “the Army’s priority is ensuring that our process is thorough, factually accurate, impartial, and legally correct.”

What are your thoughts? Is the president deliberately keeping the Bowe Bergdahl situation under wraps? What are your thoughts on Bergdahl's charges?
