NFL Player Makes SHOCKING Apology For Sitting During Anthem, Vows To Show Respect To American Vets
Does anyone really care if another moronic ill-informed, self-aggrandizing celebrity athlete, actor, singer or musician threatens to leave America, or sits on their ass at the playing of our National Anthem?
Ironically these million dollar fools are living proof of the ‘American Dream” and yet none of them truly represent America, or the hard-working individuals who have a profound and deep seeded respect for America, and those values that propelled Donald Trump to the White House.
Mike Evans the wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers decided on a recent Sunday to take the same “grandstand route” of those other spoiled and ungrateful athletes by sitting during the playing of our National Anthem, and then days later apologizing for his actions, stating that his displeasure was directed at Donald Trump for being elected president.
However one would also assume that Evans displeasure is also directed at the millions of people who voted for Trump making him president, and that’s perhaps the real reason why Evans decided to apologize, in that pissing off millions and millions of Trump supporters might ultimately be decided at the box office and perhaps the reason why fans aren’t tuning in as before.
In a statement released by ESPN, Evans explained his actions stating: "I want to start by apologizing to all the U.S. military members, their families, and the fans who I offended by my actions on Sunday. It was never my intention as I have tremendous respect for the men and women who serve our country.
Evans continued: “I have very strong emotions regarding some of the many issues that exist in our society today. I chose to sit as an expression of my frustration towards this year’s election. It was very personal for me, as it was for so many Americans.”
“With that being said, I will not sit again during the National Anthem because I want to focus my efforts on finding more effective ways to communicate my message and bring about change by supporting organizations and movements that fight for equal rights for minorities.”
Perhaps a good place to start for Evans would be to actually familiarize himself with the Trump organizations, and see how the President Elect actually treats those within his employ, rather than simply grandstanding for the sake of “GRANDSTANDING!”
Do you think Mike Evans deserves to be forgiven or should he be held accountable despite his apology?
