Woohoo! Let’s hear it for Shriner, Texas!

You all remember the story of the awesome dad who, when he caught a man raping his 5-year old daughter, beat the crap out of him. Actually, he beat the man to death. That’s right.

In a justifiable rage akin to no other, this dad did his job as a father, and that is to protect his daughter and everybody else's sons and daugters.

His intent was not to kill the man. In fact, he offered to drive Jesus Flores to the hospital to get himself put back together.

He ended up calling 911 instead and begging them for help saying, “Come on! This guy is going to die on me! I don’t know what to do.” Flores later died, and bummer we can’t shed a tear.

The father ended up being the one who found himself on the defense. Sheriff Micah Harmon refused to press charges, allowing the state justice system to do its work. The Grand Jury opted not to indict the man.

District Attorney Heather McMinn stated, “Under the law in the state of Texas, deadly force is authorized and justified in order to stop an aggravated sexual assault or sexual assault.”

There you go. Texas is showing us how to do the right thing. Again.
