President Obama has issued a White House invitation to the high school freshman at the center of what police are calling a “hoax bomb” incident in Irving, Texas.

The student, Ahmed Mohamed, took a homemade clock to school in his backpack, frightening the teacher and other students when the alarm went off in English class. The appearance of the electronic clock raised suspicions that it could be an explosive device, and police were alerted while Mohamed was called to the principal’s office.

Police authorities said the teenager was “passive aggressive” when asked about the device and couldn't provide “a reasonable answer as to why he took the electronic clock to school.” After it was determined that the electronic device was not a bomb, police announced that the teenager would not be charged.

Whether the teenager intended it as a prank, an attempt to gain attention, or merely because of adolescent misjudgment is up for debate. What is not in question is the President’s near-automatic reaction, which was to single out the Muslim for recognition and honor.

Obama tweeted to Ahmed: “Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It’s what makes America great.”

Obama’s action comes as no surprise. In his 2006 book, The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream, Barack Obama wrote that he would “stand with” Muslims against the “dark underbelly” of American immigration.

Since that time, Obama has been silent when the zero-tolerance policy of schools has run amok to the point of irrationality.

In March 2013, parents of a 7-year-old were forced to hire an attorney after their son was suspended for chewing a “Pop-Tart” into the shape of a gun at a Maryland elementary school.
No only was he kept out of school, his appeal for dismissal was DENIED.

Later that year, students at a Washington state elementary school were suspended for playing with Nerf guns at school even though the guns were brought to class at the teacher’s request as part of a lesson on probability.

Young students around the country are subject to draconian measures such as these without raising an eyebrow or comment from the Obama White House, let alone rating an invitation to the White House.

Democrat Hillary Clinton took time from her campaign to tweet: “Ahmed, stay curious and keep building.” Officials at NASA and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have also asked to meet Mohamed.

Irving is an enclave in Dallas less than an hour from Garland, where a jihad attack was foiled at a free speech event in May. The city was in the news several years ago when a Muslim executed two daughters in an “honor killing.” This sad trend only seems to be getting worse.
