Disturbing news has come out of the Rio Grande Valley. Someone claiming to be from a known Mexican cartel has claimed to have kidnapped a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

While all current on-duty staff and agents were account for, it's still unclear if any off-duty or special agents were the target of the cartel. Authorities have not named the cartel, but the FBI has been brought in to assist in the investigation. Also, while the spokesman for the Rio Grande area border patrol declined to comment on the nature of the threats, he has verified the accountability check of all known agents in the area.

With over 3,000 agents in the area, it may take some time to verify all the data and zero in on any missing agents.
