While this is no doubt a disgusting and reprehensible act by an elected official, it’s also a wake up call to very law-abiding citizen within the city of Somerville to go to the voting booth and kick this garbage out of office.

Obviously Mayor Joseph Curtatone identifies more with a hate group than he does with police officers risking their lives daily to protect law-abiding citizens.

The obvious disrespect shown by this mayor to his police force by displaying a “Black Lives Matter” banner, hanging in front of City Hall is astounding, however it’s keeping within the progressive agenda of “transforming America.”

This is no different from Hillary Clinton allowing the mother of Michael Brown to speak at the DNC, this is the same Michael Brown who strong-armed and robbed a merchant, then attacked a police officer, and was shot dead, and where this incident began giving rise to “Black Lives Matter” hate group and the false narrative of “hands up don’t shoot.”

In a letter addressed to the mayorthe Somerville Police Employee’s Association called on the mayor to remove the banner saying that the banner is “deeply” troubling.

“It is as inconceivable to us as it is demoralizing that our City would propagate its support for this movement while standing silent over the seemingly daily protest assassinations of innocent police officers around the country,” the association wrote.

In total defiance of the police the Mayor refuses to take the banner down:

“My unwavering support for our police officers does not and cannot preempt our commitment to addressing systemic racism in our nation,” Curtatone said in a statement to “I’ve made very clear to our officers that we should be thankful for—and reinforce—what we have here in Somerville: a safer community thanks to the highest quality policing by a force dedicated to community policing, de-escalation, proper use of force, and anti-bias awareness.”

Moreover law-abiding citizens need to do a better job in vetting these characters, Mayor Curtatone wouldn’t be mayor if people actually took the time and paid attention to who they elected in the first place…once again you get the government you deserve.
