Many Fox News viewers woke up Monday only to find a few less channels on the dial. Dish Network is currently embattled in a contract negotiation with Fox's parent company, 21st Century Fox Inc, and it's not looking good at the moment.

While Dish was quick to point the finger directly at Fox, Fox News executive Tim Carry told reporters:

“Fox News Channel did not disconnect Dish,” Carry said in a statement. “[R]ather, Dish prematurely ceased distribution of Fox News in an attempt to intimidate and sway our negotiations. It is unfortunate that the millions of Fox News viewers on Dish were used as pawns by their provider. Hopefully they will vote with their hard earned money and seek another one of our other valued distributors immediately.”

The Fox News crowd is a loyal bunch and this will note bode well for Dish subscriber numbers. Fox has even gone as far as sending out emails to encourage people to switch providers if an agreement is not met. Current angry customer have taken to Facebook and other social media to express their frustrations. "I am going to cancel Dish if Fox news is not back by January first". Said one user on Dish's own Facebook page.
