Those who are intent on seeing President Trump as nothing more than a bigot, a racist and a sexist will be sorely disappointed with yet more evidence that he is nothing of the kind – and the proof is coming to the United States next week when a group of Afghan girls will be attending an international robotics competition.

The six students were initially denied visas to enter the United States for the competition, which many saw as a particularly negative message at a time when U.S. troops are still in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban, a Muslim terror group that prohibited girls from attending school – even punishing them if they tried.

In fact, the student visa requests were denied at least twice by the State Department – but then President Trump heard about the situation.

The president went straight to his National Security Council to see what could be done to help the Afghan girls get to the competition.

A discussion among the NSC, the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security led to an arrangement that would grant the girls permission to enter the U.S. on “parole,” rather than on traditional visas.

Parole, which is utilized in “exceptional circumstances,” will allow the students to remain in the U.S. for ten days – long enough to participate in the international robotics event.

President Trump’s deputy national security adviser for strategy, Dina Powell, said the departments were able to coordinate the parole strategy to review the initial decisions denying the visa requests.

“The State Department worked incredibly well with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that this case was reviewed and handled appropriately.”

The move sends an important message about the commitment of the United States to women and girls, as well as to Afghanistan, as Powell told the press.

“We could not be prouder of this delegation of young women who are also scientists – they represent the best of the Afghan people and embody the promise that their aspirations can be fulfilled. They are future leaders of Afghanistan and strong ambassadors for their country.”

Hardly the statement of an administration led by a man wanting to subjugate women and girls while putting down Muslims and the Afghan people.

But President Trump’s enemies won’t want to hear about it because it will challenge the narrative that he is the embodiment of every evil “ism” possible.

Please SHARE on Facebook to spread the word about President Trump's efforts to make sure young Afghan girls are granted entry to the U.S. to participate in a science competition. For too long, leftists and the mainstream media have furthered their narrative that he is a bigoted racist and sexist.
