Leaked Hillary Documents Show Big Kickbacks Coming to Major Donors
In a scandal that has torn apart the Democratic party just days before they were set to open their national convention in Philadelphia, the news has come out that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and top Democratic leaders were planning out presidential appointments, even before she had secured the nomination. The news, which was leaked through thousands of emails now searchable on WikiLeaks, has prompted the resignation of the Democratic party's chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and has infuriated Sanders supporters.
Clinton fans, for their part, are burying their heads in the sand and refusing to listen.
Of all the nasty things uncovered in the DNC emails, perhaps the worst is a series of spreadsheets and emails that show top Clinton advisers sending out a call to fundraisers and Democratic Party officials for names "for boards and commissions."
The emails further described the call for names as being a call for high-paying fundraisers and other leaders to be considered for appointments on the Postal Service, the National Endowment for the Arts, and other posh government jobs.
It even described the efforts that Clinton would go to to enthrone her biggest supporters in meaningless, well-paying government jobs.
"It’s much more likely they’ll get something like ‘President’s Commission on the Celebration of Women in American History.’ (no shade to women) But when you submit your names, we don’t need specific designations," wrote DNC chief of staff Scott Comer.
This is ridiculous. The Democratic party isn't even looking at the qualifications of the high-paying donors that people are submitting for government positions. And worse, they're making up titles and responsibilities for these people so they can feel like they're contributing. All while taking a hefty paycheck from American taxpayers.
Clinton needs to be held accountable, just like Wasserman Schultz has been. She can't be allowed to keep running after this news.
