Retired four-star general and former Secretary of State Colin Powell served in the U.S. Army and as an advisor to both Republican and Democrat presidents for decades earning a reputation as “the reluctant warrior,” advocating diplomacy over military action, but that reluctance apparently doesn’t apply to the way he handles his personal, confidential communications with friends and colleagues.

Powell’s private emails have been hacked by and the Washington Post, revealing blunt and brutally honest assessments the longtime military man shares with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, CNN's Fareed Zakaria, and former top Bill Clinton adviser Vernon Jordan among others.

Both Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump come in for some harsh treatment with Powell calling Trump, “a national disgrace and an international pariah” and a “racist” for raising questions about Barack Obama’s birth certificate, college transcript and religion.

Trump, wrote Powell, “appeals to the worst angels of the GOP nature and poor white folks,” adding on another occasion, he takes blacks for “idiots.”

But those Democrats who reveled in such talk and expect Powell to endorse Clinton will be disappointed to read that she is not immune from sharp criticism and may be surprised by the very real anger in his words.

Powell wrote that he “resented” the way Clinton used him as a shield to excuse her unauthorized use of a private, at-home email server during her tenure as Secretary of State under President Obama.

“I have told Hilleary’s [sic] minions repeatedly that they are making a mistake trying to drag me in, yet they still try.”

“I had two IG sessions and one FBI. She and her staff refused to cooperate. She had a State Department guy taking care of the system and she was also paying him. And he was an old campaign worker. Unbelievable.”

He also savaged Clinton for her exorbitant speaking fees, claiming, “I had a gig cancelled because the client, a public university, caught hell from overpaying HRC” using the words, “unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational” to describe her.

After citing concerns about Clinton’s age and health, Powell confirmed the public’s unfavorable opinion of the Democrat candidate.

Hillary has not been covering here [sic] self with glory. For good reason she comes across as sleazy…”

Powell wrote to one friend, “everything [she] touches she kind of screws up with hubris.”

And finally, “I would rather not have to vote for her.”

But the real dagger came when he explained that he couldn't do it because she defends the status-quo while her husband is “still d–king bimbos at home".

WOW. The old tomcat hasn't changed one bit.

The Clinton campaign did not comment on the leaked emails.
