Despite all of her denials and claims of innocence former IRS head Lois Lerner could find herself in the hot seat once again fighting allegations that she illegally targeted conservative groups during the Obama years.

According to the Daily Caller, "two top tax-writing Republicans in the House are calling on the Department of Justice to reopen its investigation into whether Lerner unlawfully targeted conservative organizations applying for tax-exempt status. Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady and Tax Policy Subcommittee Chairman Peter Roskam sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions Wednesday, noting the Obama administration refused to review the information the committee gathered in its extensive investigation into the matter."

Both congressmen believe there is clear evidence Lerner used her position as director of the Exempt Organizations Division to unlawfully target 426 conservative organizations that were seeking tax-exempt status.

More than 298 groups are believed to have been targeted and only one organization was approved for non-profit status during Lerner's final three years in office.

Lerner pleaded the Fifth when she testified before Congress and later resigned.

In October 2015, the Department of Justice announced it would not pursue criminal charges against Lerner based on the findings of a two-year probe.

Complicating the DOJ investigation was Lerner's crashed hard drive, absence of an email archive, and the destruction of over 400 electronic backup tapes.

Sound familiar?

At the end of the investigation the DOJ was unable to prove Lerner knowingly discriminated against conservative groups.

Unfortunately for Lerner, she no longer has the administration of Barack Obama to protect her from alleged criminal activity that appears to have been designed specifically to make conservative groups miserable.

How quickly the tables have turned with the administration of Donald J. Trump.

That'll Lerner.

Please share this on Facebook if you believe former IRS head Lois Lerner discriminated against conservative groups based solely on politics.
