It seems that when a civil society can no longer expect our elected and or our judicial leaders, to simply follow the law, then we cease to be a civil society with laws and responsibilities and “accountabilities.

And when an 18-year old is accused of statutory rape for having sexual intercourse with a minor of the age thirteen, that’s when a civil society follows its principles and its core values and entrusts in those that have sworn an oath to uphold those principles and values or endure the slow and continued erosion of that society.

And apparently Judge Michael Stokes has chosen the latter, to continue the slow erosion and decline of America’s core principles, and instead has apparently accepted the unbelievable defense of Adil Rashid who claimed that because he attended an Islamic school and lived in an Islamic fundamentalist community, claimed that he was unaware that it was illegal for him to have sex with a girl who was thirteen years old.

Saying; “Women are no more worthy than a lollipop that has been dropped on the ground.”

He claimed that he was "tempted by her", insinuating that the girl was somehow to blame.

Incredibly, Judge Michael Stokes fell for this defense, saying; “Although chronologically 18, it is quite clear from the reports that you are very naïve and immature when it comes to sexual matters.” As a result, Rashid received a suspended prison sentence, leaving many outraged.
