Who needs boots on the ground to fight against ISIS when you've got hooves on the ground instead?

Reports confirmed three ISIS militants were stomped to death on Sunday by wild boars the militants were trying to keep from trampling nearby corn fields.

"The animals went on a rampage near a farmland in al-Rashad region, an Islamic State pocket 53 kilometers (32.93 miles) south of Kirkuk," reports Iraqi News. "They attacked the militants and left three killed, according to the source."

Eat your heart out, ISIS.

Sunday's incident reportedly came after ISIS "massacred at least 25 local civilians attempting to escape areas under the jihadists' control," Newsweek reported.

"As pro-government forces close in, ISIS's territory, which is down to less than seven percent of the nation from 45 percent in 2014, has been largely reduced to the northwestern city of Mosul, where a months-long battle has been waged by the Iraqi military and its allies to defeat the jihadists," Newsweek added. "The militants still maintain small pockets of control in southern Kirkuk."

Maybe the ISIS militants thought they could put lipstick on feral pigs and have their way with them, like they do with the innocent women and children they murder.

Instead, what they got was a pig in a poke.

Native populations of wild boars can be found in Africa, Asia, Europe, although they prefer life in thick-leaved forests. While fatalities by wild boars are fairly uncommon, the animals are known for their ferocious attacks and for their capacity to inflict serious injuries. An adult boar can weigh between 110 and 200 pounds.

"The boar has a typical method of attack wherein it steadily rushes forward, pointing the tusks towards the animal to be attacked and inflicts the injuries," according to a 2006 article titled "Death by attack from a wild boar" published in the Journal of Forensic Medicine and quoted in Newsweek. "This repeated nature of attack continues til the victim is completely incapacitated due to multiple penetrating injuries, which can have fatal consequences."

Given the Islamic religious prohibition of pork products, death by Miss Piggy was probably the worst way for these ISIS militants to enter the afterlife.

Karma's a bitch, shaped like a wild boar, with big, nasty, pointy tusks, apparently.

Please share this on Facebook if the deaths of these three ISIS militants should be observed with a nationwide barbecue.
