It is unknown whether radical Islamists operating in the 7th century have developed a sense of irony, but if not, a recent event near an ISIS-controlled area may provide them with a prime example as a “beheading” instructor met his match in the form of a British sniper.

As nearly two dozen ISIS members received training to learn how to decapitate human beings, a British SAS (Special Air Services) officer on patrol took notice of the beheading class.

Unfortunately for the ISIS teacher, the British officer was also an expert marksman and sniper, and he had plenty of time to get into position as the class went on.

Unbeknownst to the student terrorists focusing on the lecture and possibly worrying about a test, the SAS sniper took aim and delivered a perfect “kill” shot to the ISIS leader – severing his head from his body.

Another British soldier, possibly in awe of the feat of the marksmanship he had just witnessed, said, “One minute he was standing there and the next his head had exploded. The commander remained standing upright for a couple of seconds before collapsing.”

The students apparently were also duly impressed, because the witness added, “That’s when panic set in. We later heard most of the recruits deserted. We got rid of 21 terrorists with one bullet.”

Many non-Muslims have been reluctant to unleash the powerful forces of post-7th century warfare on a barbaric enemy who uses a tool of the past to strike terror into the hearts of helpless victims.

The Quran is clear with respect to Mohammad’s commandment to Muslims in verse 8:12: “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”

The real lesson of the day for the students attending beheading class may well have been that a fanatic holding a sword is no match for a highly skilled professional and his high-powered rifle.
