Instead Of Calling For Riots, Families Of SC Shooting Victims Promote Christian Forgiveness.
Incredibly in perhaps one of the darkest moments in Charleston’s history, the city became a model for how people of faith respond to a sudden tragedy, and rather than demagogue the issue of gun violence, this president missed an opportunity to bring a nation together by highlighting the city of Charleston, and in particular how both black and white have responded to the senseless mass shootings, the city should be hailed as a symbol of unity and faith.
Obama could have easily cancelled his fundraising trip to “La la land” and could have actually done something “presidential” by going to Charleston and speaking at the church, however not in defiance or to push a political agenda but rather in the spirit of unity and of those most affected.
In that relatives of the victims gunned down in the South Carolina church massacre told the killer that they forgive him in heart-wrenching statements during his first court appearance.
'I forgive you!' the daughter of Ethel Lance told Dylann Roof through tears as he appeared via video link at the Charleston court on Friday afternoon. 'You took something really precious from me. I will never talk to her ever again, I will never be able to hold her ever again but I forgive you!”
One could only imagine if this mass shooting would have taken place in Baltimore, Ferguson, Detroit or Chicago, those cities would now be in “lock down” and in all probability in flames.
Those are powerful words indeed for a nation tired of hearing the same divisive hate from progressive politicians, charlatans and race pimps such as Al Sharpton…America hungers for unity!
