If you’re a tax payer you’ve probably at some point experienced that “queasy feeling” in the pit of your stomach as you wrestle with your returns, double checking everything for accuracy as April 15th draws near, and once done most of us “breath-a-sigh-of-relief.”

However if you’re a member of the Tea Party filling out a tax-exemption 501 form during the 2012 presidential election season, and seeking tax-exempt status from the IRS, the chances are excellent that the “queasy feeling”  in the pit of your stomach has never gone away. Thanks in part to the former IRS Administrator Lois Lerner and of course the Obama Administration. Who turned this already feared tax collection agency into a secretive political enforcement tool targeting those individuals the Obama régime considered politically dangerous to his progressive agenda.

And overseeing the daily targeting of conservatives was Lois Lerner a committed progressive foot soldier, whose job was to stop by any means possible, the Tea Party movement, which threatened the reelection of Obama, and to that end she succeeded. And for her reward rather than jail time, Lerner has retired with full government benefits, and as an extra reward U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ron Machen  said that he would not file charges on its formal contempt citation against Ms. Lerner, which shields Ms. Lerner from any grand jury probe.

Although the House of Representatives had held Lerner in “Contempt of Congress” and sent the citation to Mr. Machen, in which his only duty was to “bring the matter before the grand jury for its action.” Mr. Machen instead sat on the contempt citation for 11 months, and on March 31 sent Speaker John Boehner a letter explaining he’d unilaterally decided not to investigate Ms. Lerner. The decision astoundingly came on the last day of Machen’s tenure.

The end game for the Obama team was to simply run out clock, which they’ve done repeatedly throughout his presidency; and it’s a strategy that has worked successfully from one scandal to another.

And although there have been countless interviews, congressional probes and investigations on “how” and “why” 32,000 emails from Lerner’s computer could vanish and then suddenly reappear. Investigators have already scoured 744 backup tapes and gleaned 32,774 unique emails, but just two weeks ago they found an additional 424 tapes that could contain even more Lerner emails.

One thing however is certain after witnessing this debacle in that those that speak out must never allow themselves to be intimidated or be silenced. Those who pretend to care for the principles of law will in the end be judged by history.
