If there’s one thing that the political class does well, is spend tax payer money, and if you happen to be within that refined class of elitists, that 2% at the very top of the government trough, then the sky’s the limit.

However most of those elite politicians, especially those who’ve been entrusted with the power of the presidency, usually have the “good sense” to understand that being elected president doesn’t entitle you to play “monarch” with the people’s money, in that there are degrees of acceptability’s and accountability that the people expect of their leaders.

Moreover when a president like Obama begins thinking of himself as an emperor, spending lavishly on vacations, then it’s time perhaps cap this willful abuse of power, once and for all.

Since this character (Obama), has been in office he spends during the Christmas holidays a whopping $35 million dollars of our tax dollars on his vacations to his home state of Hawaii, which doesn’t even come close to the multiple vacations taken throughout the year.

Contrast that with former President George Bush who spent his Christmas vacations at Camp David.

Moreover when asked about why he spent Christmas vacations at Camp David President Bush responded; “Here’s the thing: In December, we never left Washington, D.C., until the day after Christmas.”

Columnist Joseph Curl writing for the Washington Times reiterates:  “Mr. Bush and his wife, Laura, would always depart the White House a few days before the holiday and hunker down at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland.”

Carl perhaps observing the vast difference between the Obama’s and the Bushes vacation preferences asked a member of Bush’s administration why the president chose to spend Christmas in the White House.

I still remember what she said,” Curl wrote. “’So all of us can be with our families on Christmas.”

“Who was ‘us’?” Curl asks in his writing. “Hundreds and hundreds of people, that’s who. Sure, the reporters who covered the president, but also dozens and dozens on his staff, 100 Secret Service agents, maybe more, and all of those city cops required whenever the president’s on the move in D.C.”

And perhaps that’s the other take away aside from the obscene spending by the Obama’s, in that former President Bush, empathized with those individuals serving him, and understood the importance of being with their family.

Do you think G.W. Bush handled his vacations while in office in a much better manner befitting a sitting President than Obama has?

Sound off in the comments below and tell us if you think Obama has stuck it in taxpayers faces with his extravagant vacation practices while in office.
