“The Star Spangled Banner” is sung practically every day in America.

Somewhere all across the nation, thousands of Americans stand for the national anthem – well, excluding Colin Kaepernick, of course – at the beginning of sporting events year ‘round.

But few know that the lyrics are about one of the first and most important victories for the new nation as the British Royal Navy bombarded Baltimore from ships in the harbor during The War of 1812.

This year, over two hundred years later, America was on the other side of the bombarding as U.S. led anti-Islamic State forces unloaded on the terrorists in 85 engagements in Iraq and Syria on the eve of the nation’s birthday.

The rockets red glare of the anthem rained down on ISIS 25 times on July 3 as part of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), according to government sources.

The operation is part of coalition efforts to retake the Iraqi city of Mosul, which was once held by U.S. forces before being taken by ISIS nearly two years ago.

Army Col. Ryan Dillon, OIR spokesman, said Iraqi Security Forces are preparing to announce the liberation of the city.

ISIS is using civilians as human shield as it tries to defend its hold on Mosul in yet another show of the terror group’s brutality.

OIR is also involved in efforts by the Syrian Democratic Forces to regain the capital, Raqqa.

The location and enemies have changed – the battle is not being waged in Baltimore Harbor and Britain is one of our oldest allies.

Today, this 4th of July, the fight is in the Middle East and the enemy is a terror group that could not have been imagined when the Founders were alive.

But the lyrics of the national anthem still apply today – America is still the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Please SHARE on Facebook to spread the word about the liberation of cities held by the terror group ISIS.

President Trump has given the military permisson to win and U.S.-led coalition forces are winning in the fight to eradicate ISIS once and for all.
