Candidate Donald Trump was on the money in 2016 when he slapped the "illegal" tag on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program of former President Barack Obama.

A former political insider has come forward, saying nearly half of Obama's 800,000 so-called young "dreamers" who have been given work permits under the harmless sounding program, lied to obtain them.

"Based on what I had seen and what I discussed with my colleagues, the fraud rate is 40 to 50 percent. It's possible that it was higher," Matt O'Brien, an attorney and former manager in the investigative unit of the U.S. Citizenship Immigration Service, told LifeZette this week.

"There's a huge rate of fraud in this program," he said.

The DACA program of 2012 granted temporary legal status to eligible migrants who entered the U.S. illegally. Applicants have to be 16 years old, or younger, a high-school graduate, or enrolled in school to be approved for work permits.

Many of these little dreamers -- some who have been shown to be as old as 30 -- obtained passage aboard the "Beast" train and rode rooftop into the U.S., wearing only the clothes on their back.

O'Brien said many of these migrants presented either forged or faked documents along with their applications to gain DACA approval.

"I'm not confident it wasn't intentional" on the part of DACA officials to grant permits based on fraudulent information, he said.

In 2017, the DACA approval rate has been 97 percent.

On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that President Trump was ending the DACA program in six months.

Democrats have been apoplectic faced with the impending loss of a key Obama social engineering program that guaranteed a steady supply of cheap U.S. labor and potential Democrat voters.

With such rampant fraud in DACA, Democrats will find they have little moral or legal ground to stand on to try to preserve this ill-conceived and anti-American program.

Were you surprised to hear of the degree of fraud in the DACA program?
