The odds are that unless something monumental happens between now and election day Donald Trump will become the 2016 GOP Presidential Nominee. And of course being “the Donald” he has from almost day one assumed he would be the standard-bearer of his party.

And with that awesome responsibility and realization, Trump is beginning to put sound conservative policies together. And earlier this week he had an opportunity to actually share those policies, and be more specific, by taking a few questions on Twitter from some of his supporters, one of which was about the first thing he plans to do as president.

Of course there was no hesitation as Trump quickly answered “The first thing I’d do in my first day as president is close up our borders so that illegal immigrants cannot come into our country,” Trump replied.

“We have tremendous problems,” he continued, “we owe $19 trillion dollars, we don’t know what we’re doing, everything’s falling apart. People can come into our country, but only legally. I will close up those borders.”

During the Q&A session, Trump also promised that he would “totally protect Israel” from Muslims if he becomes president.

Aside from the theatrics and bluster Trump is an extremely intelligent individual and a pragmatist, with an uncanny ability to gauge a situation…however he also possess a rare commodity that career politician’s lack, “unbridled candor.”
